Super Easy Granola Recipe

I've been wanting to make granola since the first time I know what it is. For those who doesn't know what granola is, it's a form of food, made from rolled oats mixed with some nuts, dried fruits, and sweetener of your choice and then baked in the oven. Just google it for the details. Granola can be consumed with milk just like cereal does or even on its own as a form of 'healthy' snack. I personally like to have it as my breakfast. Btw why did I put the quotation mark between healthy? Because it depends on what you put in it, put almonds, dates, cocoa nibs and other healthy stuffs without sugar and it shall be healthy. Put a bunch of chocolate chips, drizzle it with more than good amount of syrup and you're doomed... kind of. So it's all depends on you, like you are the master of what you're gonna eat (???). * I start talking nonsense again...*

Anyway, people who know me well must have realize 2 things that are so me. The first being how me and morning never get along well. Yes, I am no morning person by any means. For me, morning starts at 8 AM, if not later than that. I'm that type of person who prefers working until late night to working from early morning. The second is I HATE unnecessary complicated things. I tend to have a habit to simplify things. Make them as efficient and easy as possible. I mean, life's already complicated on its own, so why bother making it more complicated? Okay, that is lame. But you know what I'm trying to say, right? And Granola is one of the men's invention to make life (of people like me) easier, no waking up at early morning needed and you get to eat an easy prepared breakfast, and right now I'm going to share the super duper easy recipe with you. With just some simple ingredients and a little bit of mixing and tossing here and there. Here we go!

Ingredients:
1. 2 cups (about 115 grams) of rolled oats
2. 1 cup (about 57 grams) of slivered/chopped almond
3. 1/4 cup (about 4 tbsp) of maple syrup/honey/sweetener of your choice
4. 2 tbsp of brown sugar (optional)
5. 2 tsp of cinnamon powder
6. 1 cup (about 57 grams) of raisins, dates or any dried fruits you like, but this is also totally optional
7. 1/4 cup (about 4 tbsp) of vegetable oil
8. A generous pinch of salt

Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 125C (before you start with the ingredients)
2. In a large bow, combine all the ingredients, starting from the dry to wet, and mix well
3. Pour the mixture onto baking pan/tray, spread them evenly into a thin layer
4. Cook the mixture in the oven for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, stirring every 15-20 minutes to make the color even.
5. Let it cool outside the oven, stirring occasionally, leave it be until really cool before you taste it because you wouldn't want the caramelized sugar to burn your tongue and throat. I mean it.
6. Enjoy!
