NOMS AND GULPS: Cottondrops, Gading Walk - MKG Review

Hey hey... Been a long time since I post reviews about food. So I decided to lightly freshen up my blog with this review. Here it is.

I went to MKG with my friends last Saturday and while strolling around there, I bumped into a stall... well not really a stall, it was like kind of a big stall. Oh whatever. But you get the idea, don't you? Kalo ngga ya udah, google aja sih 'Cotton Drops'. Anyway, the signboard said "Cotton Drops", dan sebagai orang yang suka kepengaruh sama barang-barang unyu yang penting gak penting, langsung deh gw samperin itu stand dan celingak celinguk penasaran mau kepo-in itu toko. Dan gw lihat mereka baru buka hari ini, terus... emm... ohh ternyata dia jualan minuman toh... "Ah, must be another vendor of the ol' boring bubble tea...", that's what I thought that time, and I was kind of wrong. Hahaha... Bagian jual minumnya sih bener, tapi bukan bubble tea. Asik.

"Ya udah jangan cuma bacot doang, mana gambarnya? NO PIC = HOAX." Kata kalian. Oke, gw gak sempet ngambil foto tokonya. Kenapa? Karena 1. Malu, banyak orang, masa iya gw macam alay nista motret-motretin toko orang out of nowhere, 2.

So I decided to bought their 'Sweet Pot' cake. It was like a pot that you usually use to contain plant, but this one contains cake topped with some cookie/cake crumbles that represents the soil. Hmm... Susah dijelasinnya ya... Ya pokonya penampakannya seperti ini:

Tadaaaaahhh...! Sweet Pot - 35K
Kayak makan tanah ya. Hahaha... gimmick yang gak penting. Tapi lucu kaaan? Iya kan? Iya kan? :D
And here's what I thought:

Name: Green Tea Sweet Pot

Species: Dessert unyu-unyu yang lagi happening

Vendor: Cotton Drops

Location: Gading Walk - MKG

Plus Factor: The cake was decent, not too sweet, not too plain, and the flavor was really there. You can take the container pot home with you if you want to *yay!*, and lastly, who doesn't like to eat a fun-shaped cake like that? At least I do. :D

Minus Factor: The size was suitable for liliput. It was a bit on the too small side of portion. And also, they only have 1 store location and it's far as hell from where I live :(

Verdict: This is commonly known as 'soil cake' elsewhere. IDK about the flavor at the other places but here, the cake comes in 3 flavor variations, strawberry, green tea, and chocolate-something... I forgot. I chose the green tea flavored (like, DUH) and it was surprisingly good! I mean it was not just another pretty face *tsahh!*. And yes, you can definitely taste the green tea while munching the cake. The sweetness level is also fine by me and the experience of eating it was quite fun (makan tanah, macam ikut pesugihan... xixixi...), so both the taste and the price are OK because as far as I know the price is higher for this kind of cake elsewhere, they're like 50K-something if I'm not mistaken. So was it good? Yes! Will I come back for more? Maybe. I'm thinking about trying their drinks instead if I visit MKG again next time.

That was it. Until next time! BBFN (bye-bye for now) :D
