This is not the first time I grumble about how living and working in Jakarta is really annoying. But this sure is the first time I blog it. Haha!
I was born and raised in Jakarta. Most of my family and friends live here too. I've spent all my entire life here, so there's no denying that part of me really belongs to this city, which I have a love/hate relationship with. But sometimes I just can't stand living here. I mean with the always jammed traffic wherever you go, it takes forever (especially on weekdays) to go somewhere by car because the public transports are kind of unreliable, and takes almost forever if you go by motorcycle like I usually do. Not to mention about the polluted air and water, flood coming from just 2 hours of normal rain, or the combinations of 3 of them, and so many other things to be complained about.
I've been thinking about finding a job that allows me to work from home. I'm pretty sure I won't last long working in a regular office that takes place quite far from my house and requires me to go through the hellish traffic every weekday (I'd most likely will die young, or at least develop a mental illness, because seriously, I'm not that strong... ugh...), unless there's something special and magical (ahemm... dream job, super huge salary, bonuses, flexible working hours, etc.) that can make me do it. Yep, keep dreaming, honey, I still see no signs from it to show up, so I'll just stick to my plan to go for freelancing someday so I won't have to go out on weekdays if not necessary. By that, I'm saving myself from getting a 'senggol bacok' syndrome, and I also can do people a small favor at the same time by not getting in their way to some place aka 'menuh2in jalanan yang emang udah penuh'. Sounds like a great plan. Hmm...
Then why the hell I'm still doing this? Oh, right. Because saying is way easier than doing :P
