So, once upon a time in this early December, my brother randomly decided to treat me and my sister. *Yaaaayyy!!!* Don't ask me why or on what occasion, I don't know either. He said he just got his paycheck and suddenly wanted to treat us (dafuq?) and he wanted to have Japanese food, but not sushi, as his dinner. Awww... I mean, who doesn't want a brother like that? Treating you just because he wanted to. Actually I was sensing that he was just bored at that time and he wanted to eat Japanese food but didn't know whom to go with, and then there are his sisters, practically doing nothing at home, doesn't have anything to eat while our parents were going somewhere else... Hey, I think he simply just took a pity on us. Well I don't care, he IS that weird sometimes. And so we decided to go to Ootoya in Summarecon Mal Serpong since it was the nearest place from our home.
Sooooo what did we have there?
Beef Croquette |
Name: Beef Croquette (Beef Korokke)
Price: ....... I forgot. Sorry (-____-)
Rate: 3/5
It was a regular beef croquette, but it was a quite tasty one. It came with side cabbage salad on the same bowl. Crunchy on the outside, moist and fragrant on the inside, and quite big of a piece. Also, not oily AT ALL. Yes! Major plus point. BUT... even though I don't remember exactly how much it did cost, I reckon that I was kind of disappointed when I compare the price with the food. I mean, it's just a beef croquette. A decent one, yes, but still a potato croquette. Oh, and I could't taste the beef. Like it's barely there.
Tori Kurozu Set |
Name: Tori Kurozu Set
Price: I... forgot... hahaha... I'm a bad reviewer, I know. It was around 80K++ if I'm not mistaken.
Rate: 4.5/5
This is THE BOMB. I know it looks kind of unappealing here but trust me, it was good! I ordered this with the set of rice, soup and side dish. It consist of chicken karaage which was fried beautifully (and super crunchy), baby potatoes, lotus root, carrot, onion and bell pepper drizzled with sweet sauce. Sounds too healthy? Haha... just try it first before you judge.
Chicken Katsu... err... (it has a last name, but I forgot... haha) |
Name: (Something related with Chicken Katsu. I forgot the name, hahaha... sorry...)
Price: It was around 100K++... if I'm not mistaken. *iya gw lupa... timpuk sendal aja udah xD*
Rate: 4/5
This is a kind of dish that I'm sure almost everyone will enjoy. I mean what could go wrong with perfectly fried chicken katsu, soft boiled egg, and savory gravy? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Oh, and it also served with the rice set that I mentioned before.
VERDICT:
I surely want to pay a visit there again. Maybe later when I got my paycheck next month, or should I ask my brother to go there again? Hahaha... *ga tau diri* The food there have a... umm... home-y feeling, I guess. It's like you have a Japanese mom who cooks a hearty authentic Japanese meal for you. TBH it was pricey (at least for me), but I think it's totally OK to dine there once in a while.
